David Allen Langston fell asleep in the Lord on Monday, August 18, 2008, a short time after being diagnosed with lung cancer. David was born in Austin, Texas on January 21, 1953. He was a loving husband to his best friend, Lillian, and the dedicated father of his son, Warren.
His employments included antique clock repair and machinist. David was a faithful and devoted member of Our Lady's Maronite Catholic Parish, volunteered for many years at the Church Food Pantry, was involved with the Boy Scouts of America with his son, and a volunteer to PADAP. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, giving to others through numerous church functions, and entertaining his family and many friends at his home.
David is survived by his devoted wife, Lillian Langston; son, Warren Langston; mother, Marguerite Langston; sisters, Ann Cousineau and Dorothy Langston; brother, Thomas Langston; two nephews, John Lane and Rick Lane; father and mother-in-law, Ike and Bernice Ermis; step-son, Dennis Buie; two granddaughters, Sarah Krause and Madison Krause; and brother-in-law, Chris Ermis. David was preceded in death by his father, Thomas E. Langston.
He will be remembered by so many as a faithful friend who accepted everyone as they are and made them feel like an important part of his life and as a man who loved God and served him with all his heart.
The family would like to thank the doctors and Hospice Austin.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19th at Our Lady's Maronite Catholic Parish, 1320 E. 51st Street, with a Rosary and Incense Service to begin at 6:00 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 20, 2008, also at Our Lady's Maronite Catholic Parish. All services will be celebrated by Msgr. Don Sawyer.
